ACE Encourages You To Dance Your Way Fit

Ever wish you could work out and tone up like the celebrities? Now you can! Take a cue from the fittest celebrity contestants on 'Dancing With the Stars' and shimmy your way to a more fit and healthy you. Exercise doesn?t simply mean running on a treadmill or lifting weights. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) offers some tips on how you can incorporate dance into your exercise routine for a fun and effective way to burn calories and tone muscles:


� Take an aerobic dance class. Many gyms now offer dance-based classes including Zumba�. This dance style recently become a popular fitness trend and is now recognized as a fitness program by ACE. Traditional Zumba classes pull dance moves and styles from merengue, foxtrot, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, belly dance, waltz, flamenco, tango and samba. Spice things up by trying new variations of Zumba, including Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba and Zumbatomic� ? a Zumba program designed specifically for children.
