Maternity Yoga With Kristin McGee

Pregnancy can be one of the most special times in a woman?s life, but it can also be
the most stressful on the body. Throughout pregnancy, a woman?s body endures
physical and emotional changes, which is why it is so important that women exercise
during their pregnancies. The following Yoga poses have been proven to alleviate
stress on the mother?s body, mind and spirit.







Downward Facing Dog
Start on all fours, hands under shoulders, knees under hips. Tuck your toes under
and press your torso up off the floor as you lift your hips up and back. Straighten
your legs and lengthen your heels towards the floor. Keep lengthening out of your
arms and feel all the weight coming back to your legs. Downward Dog is a wonderful
shoulder opener and great way to strengthen the entire body. Hold the pose for up
to 8 to 10 breaths. Bend your knees if your hamstrings are very tight.
