According to the Hollywood Reporter, the former High School Musical beauty is in final negotiations to star in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the sequel to 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D. In the film, Hudgens will play a Pacific Islander who falls for explorer Sean Anderson, who will once again be played by The Kids Are All Right actor Josh Hutcherson.
